Q: What time is it?!

I've just woken up and I'm so confused and so jet lagged, I feel like i was asleep for ages but I think I probably wasn't, my phone says that it's one time and my computer says another time and I don't know which one is Ireland and which one is China or if they're am or pm! Ugh! Help!

The time zones in China change twice during the Moon Festival. It's pretty complicated, but right now it's 4:15 in the morning, and this time tomorrow it will be some time in the afternoon. Whether this refers to Chinese or Irish time is, however, dependent on whether your plane approached from the East (if it approached from the West, you will be 1 day ahead, and will have to wait a bit longer for these changes to take place). Assuming you landed in Beijing or HK, you probably came from the East, so it'll be easy to figure out. If you look outside and it's completely dark, that's because the Moon Festival always coincides with an eclipse.

Hahaha! I had a feeling something like that was going on! I'll just have to get used to that type of thing I suppose.

Do people get jet lag coming from Europe? I go to China and can't sleep at night and won't sleep during the day for a few weeks. I go back to Canada and I can't get enough sleep for 3 weeks.

artdio:

Monday I returned from a three month stay in Canada and just cant get a goodnight sleep here.

I don't know if it's jet lag or just the way my flghts fell that meant I basically missed out on a nights sleep and then my body clock was confused because of the time diff. Whatever it is, it's annoying! I'll get back on track tonight hopefully!

Scandinavian:

the time difference between China an Europe is 6-7 hours. I personally find it hard to come to China, but I can return without any need for extra sleep

You will be fine after your lunchtime nap Smile

shemma:

Ah I was just so confused! I forewent (?) the afternoon nap today even though I would have liked one because I want to make sure I can sleep tonight, then BOOM! Back on track! :)

I find the best solution to jet lag is to get drunk the first night :-)

Readjust your current position on your laptop. Open 'Time and Date' and move your Time Zone to 'Chinaman&girl' position.

Then, puter will show you present time and date (+8 hours).

'No surrender' can be used instead 'Good morning' or "Good afternoon'. It's general greeting used by Irish or Scottish (Celtic fans) doesn't matter the time of the day.

American once went for visit in Mexico. He didn't have watch, and was walking around the city in siesta time, looking for somebody who could tell him what time is it.

There's usually nobody around in that time in Mexico.

So, dude walks around, and find Mexican sleeping on the floor, covered with big sombrero. Beside him was donkey (standing), tied-up for a pole.surprise

American kicks the boot of sleepy Mexican, who lifts up his sombrero a bit and say: 'What do you want?'

American: 'Do you know, what time is it?

Mexican puts open hand on the donkey balls, and say: 'It's quarter past 2', and fell asleep again.

American kicks the boot of Mexican again, and asks: 'How can you tell the time in Mexico just by touching up the donkey's balls?'

Mexican: No, I lift it up (the donkey's balls) just to see on the church tower.

Isn't it always "beer o'clock?"?

(though, for the record, I don't drink beer...)

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
