Q: What will be the normal salary for a BA TESOL 1year Experienced non-native Indian teacher in China?

I know that Chinese schools only hire native English speakers and may be if they look like one. I have completed my BA and TESOL and i have 1 year experience in teaching. I was offered 4000RMB by one school, but i think it is not enough. I think the management evaluated me from the photo and passport.

Not sure about not hiring non-natives here. Everyplace I went to the non-native teachers outnumbered the native teachers by like 3 to 1. You should ask for more and the reason being is a lot of the schools they make the student pay a whole lot of money. If you have 10 students in class and your only getting offered 4000 that's probably like less than 10% of what the school is bringing in. And the principal etc., is pocketing most of that money while you are doing all the work.

Yea, 4k or 5k a month is probably up around your limit. Its not a bad income, and you could always supplement it by moon lighting (not that I would recommend doing so or than anybody is china ever does).

Hi,
I need at least 6000RMB to start, but i think 4K will be a fair salary since they offer other benefits such as accommodation and airfare. I think cost of living is much less compared to other countries. Thank you for the reply.

Well, once you get here and get settled in do a little bit of networking. You never know what kind of work will fall into your lap. Also if your more comfortable obeying the law,  and that's entirely up to you, you could always look for a job online.

I get the same as the native speakers in my UNI...its more than 5K for 12 classes a week (45 min)...hmm maybe because I'm so 'handsome'? And 'so strong but a little fat'.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
