Q: What will schools or training center do now that they've been "visa'd"!!?

I'm in Shenzhen, haha visa'd is my own term meaning the new visa laws have totally left schools and training centers in a hard and difficult position. What's going on in other cities?

Have you gotten tons of calls this past week? I've gotten 26 job offers in the last 5 days. They just keep coming and now they're even arguing back saying: hey we will offer you a higher salary..

Can you feel the results of the new visa laws? Are your fellow coworkers saying: I am not leaving or changing or what?

Will the rise of M or F or L visa teachers come back to mess with our market again? Hope not...

But wow I can see it, I've seen guys throw hissy tantrums after they got rejected in Hong Kong due to the best law of all: Must have a HK ID to get a Chinese visa...

Wasn't it supposed to be more difficult to reside on complacency visa (spouses apart)?

Also, Hong Kong has never been a lotery with Z visas as far as I know, is it possible that you have a proper invitation letter adressed to Hong Kong and still get rejected? Sounds strange.

Z visa can still get in HK, but not F, M, L without a HK ID

This is a great opportunity for teachers to demand higher salaries of 250 yuan  per hour. They are getting desperate. I see it  and feel it in their emails and calls.

One private school I know of brought over a young Welsh teacher.  They treated her like a five year-old.  She had a curfew, had to ask permission to have certain friends, and a lot of other restrictions.

I told her that was working illegally and that school could do nothing to her except to threaten her, but could not go through with anything.

She just quit on them and started working with a private company.  That is what schools get for being greedy.

I hear that also many illegal teacher goes to Thailand. Lover salary but also lover life costs, so they come up with same result by the end of the month. They are more respected there, you can easily finish everything you need. And also get some partying which seems to be more important for many of them, which is also rather cheap over there.

Yeah, and they end up with 4 bedroom houses and a pool. lol

I don't say Thailand is paradise but some people seem to like it more there. I mean partying by availability of weed and cheap girls, if you didn't understood in the first place.

Offer higher salaries and charge the people more. It's science.

ironman510:

Yeah my mate who works at DK was offered a higher salary and refused, stating his reason: I don't want to become too expensive for this company, I prefer long term.
