Q: What wonderful countries are easy for Chinese to get a visa for?

Next summer when I have a lot of time off I want to take my Chinese boyfriend to another country for vacation. It will be his first time outside of China. I really want to take him somewhere fun and exciting with wonderful food. He is a chef and loves to learn about food.

Second question: How easy is it for Chines to get tourist visa to America for around a month?

Thailand is easy. Has great food and is sufficiently different from China. Bangkok or an Island/beach resort  are both great.

Eorthisio:

Agree, and Thai food is the best in Asia, however some hotels might refuse them, they have had long term bad image and many bad experiences with tourists from Mainland China over there that ended up costing them more than the price of the night, like stolen or broken furniture for e.g.

unless your bf has visited at least 3 countries and returned or going to culinary convention related to his occupation, or maybe an organized tour, a visit to america may be a slim possibility, but there is always marriage and the ball and chain to fix the problem.

bansufan:

Thanks. That is why I am asking what countries are easy to go to for Chinese people to prepare for the American visa.

Bali, Maldives, palau, jeju korea. All good places with cheap flights that chinese do not need a visa for.

royceH:

Fair dinkum?  Chinese don't need a visa to visit Bali?  Just jump on the plane?

I will think about that.  We're planning a trip to Uzbekistan during the winter hols and it looks pretty good.  But...visa application is proving to be other than simple.

Bali.... haven't been there since '82.  Food for thought.

Thanks Mike.

Royce, indo does visa on arrival; it makes clearing customs a slow process but you don't need to organise anything ahead of time.

Miss A is right. Most places are technically visa on arrival, but thats not really any different than our passports. The end result is chinese can go and dont need to prepare a visa before.

Thailand is a great holiday place; good food, good people, cheap, easy to get around and it's absolutely gorgeous in many places. Westerners get visa-free entry but i think chinese get a visa on arrival.

mike695ca:

Thats not entirely true but could be. That particular situation is changing all the time. Me and my wife go often. She needs a visa. There was a 3 month trial period from August on where they could get a landed visa but then the thai takeoever happened and everyone freaked out. They cancelled that , and then tried again. We called the thai embassy and they said to just get the visa. Even they dont know.

Thailand, for one. Maldives probably..

Anywhere with dozens of Chinese tour groups going there probably means the visa thing isn't a problem.

I recall a friend having an issue getting out of China without a visa. I think your pal might need a visa to get out. I think in the end my friend had to get a visa for another country and go via there to the destination where the visa was not needed.

Hotwater:

They've relaxed those rules a lot now. Quite a few countries now offer visa on arrival so no need for visa in passport to get out (examples from memory include Sri Lanka, Bali, Thailand)

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
