Q: What's the average annual salary of a top Chinese official here?

How much "legal" money do people like Wen Jiabao make? Just curious!

That information isn't disclosed in the middle kingdom it was supposed to be as they mentioned 3 or 5 years ago they were going to publish all government officials yearly salaries but that never happened as well their salaries wouldn't be able to justify their 3-4 houses, cars etc.... Wink Being on the take here is normal, where as our politicians go to jail, here it can be obvious but as long as you don;t get complaints about it they leave you alone.

Well, I hate to ask a question for your question but are you speaking about above or under the table. There is a hugh difference.

elsaees:

If you read the question you would have spotted the word "legal" so I'm just going to hazard a guess and say that she meant above the table...

hmmm elsaees, get off your high horse. Your in China, what's the difference between Legal and illegal. Nothing, check half the posts about registering foreigners in housing, you'll see even foreigners in China think they can get by with small things that seem insignificant. There is no real legal standards when we speak about the government in any country.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
