Q: Whats the best thing that has happened to you in China?

Seems to be lots of negative stuff going around.

Like to hear some good stories.

Along with the general sightseeing stuff that enjoy so much and the great times I have with my Aussie of Chinese origin partner I will give two examples of things that were increadibly memorable to me.

On my last visit I was taken by the my partners best friend and her husband to an exclusive private (members only) restaurant. The chef was from Fujian and it was a traditional Fujian banquet highlighted by dishes such as Drunken Crab, Buddha Jumps the Wall Soup, huge scallops in their shell and other assorted seafood dishes. I cannot even put into words the presentation, quality and taste of the meal. I would never have dreamed of dining in this manner until I came to China.

The second was a visit to one of the multi story sauna and restaurant complex that they have in Shenyang and the most incredible pampering experience over 4 or 5 hours. Treated like a King.

The Gibson SG copy I bought for 100 RMB. Beautiful grain, character and color on that wood. And all my Chinese friends. And other stuff.

3 days of 50yuan discount from 1 of the food delivery companies in shanghai. I ordered something under 50yuan and i dont pay anything (a.k.a free food!!). Even i created a quote for myself "You won't die starving in China!" lol

I really can't say anything positive has happened to me since I've been in China... with the exception of the day I left China to visit Laos.  Unfortunately, however, I had to return two weeks later.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
