In my understanding, "Hate" is an emotion, but"Dislike" is just a feeling or an idea.
A dislike of a person simply means you don't like this person,on the other hand,If you hate a person,It would not matter to you if some harm should happen her or him as You simply just want to be rid of this person.
What's your opinion between the two words?

When you hate something it becomes more emotional like you said. You can hate something or someone and you would wish harm on that person. If you dislike something or someone it's less severe. You can dislike a particular food, clothing or country and that's just your opinion. Where as hate is more deep!
It is a matter of degree. Hate is much stronger than dislike.
Looks like they are spelt different as well! Don't you hate that?
And, don't forget, 'hate' is vastly over-used! Most of the time when someone uses 'hate', they really mean 'dislike'. eg, "I hate cheese" just doesn't work in reality.
Just as love has a strong link to desire (in various ways), so too does 'hate'... but the desire is different - the desire to do harm, get angry at, punch, et etc... You're unlikely to have that response over cheese
