Q: What's Guilin known for APART from the scenery?

Is there anything other than rocks and rivers there?

There's an efficient bus station that takes you to Yangshuo and the Longji Rice terraces!

It doesn't have a big city feel, no sky scrappers, still has lots of old neighborhoods. I find the city has lots of mature trees along roads. I like Guilin more than any city I have been to, but I haven't been to many others.

For foreign ESL teachers it also has seriously low wages as compared to the rest of the country to the supply which far outstrips the demand.

A:If he did contact the embassy they would tell him to engage a lawyer. They at least might be able to point him towards a somewhat decent lawyer, I don't think they'd be of much help aside from that though. I doubt the lawyer would be able to do much other than help negotiate the compensation he will need to pay.   -- Stiggs
