well,,, dunno if u call it my favorite,,,,, but the one I cannot get to the bottom of is why do they 'speak/talk/converse' so loudly ? and as a side q, why do they seem to do Everything soooooo loudly ?? I would pay a million bucks to finally have this answered 100%.
*Note: I will offer conjectures regarding, if/when others are put forward.

Well they have to talk so loud to be heard over everyone else talking loud.
I was on a bus once with a guy behind me yelling into his phone and my ear. He was the only one on the phone so I wondered how he enjoyed everyone in the bus hearing his conversation. Maybe he was getting "face" in some way. After five minutes I asked him to turn it down (in my best English) and he just beamed and waved at me while still yelling into the phone. I think he thought he made a new foreign friend. Then some others started yelling into their phones and I started to think about how long the bus trip would last.

The funniest thing I can remember was when we were in the cinema and the 'strong' man next to me started yakking away on his phone. After a short time I told him to get off the phone or get out of the cinema. He replied that he was speaking with his friend. I said I don't give a flying fuck who you're talking to, just cease it or get out. So he hung up. And a minute later he left the cinema, not to return. His female partner was left alone for the remainder of the film.
That was a funny thing.
