Q: Whats your record breaking electric bill? If you use an Aircon.

In Shenzhen we're having some pretty hot days.  Must use the aircon haha, or my wife will heat up, our record price was Y1200 for a month mostly using it at night and during the weekend all day.

Yours?

Cooling isn't usually our problem.  We will pay about 500 - 600 during July/August period.  My problem is the heating.  I have electric infloor heat system.  almost 3k for the coldest month of the year.  but I keep it on the whole time.  It's still worth it.  Nothing like walking with bare feet on stone in the middle of winter.

800 with three units. Fans and dehumidifies can help.

My power bill has never been above 300. It's usually about 180. Am I doing something wrong?

5-600 max. Column air con running in the living room all day and split in the bedrooms all night. It help a lot to reduce the power consumption if you run them in de-humidifing function.

No more than about 400 in GZ.

We are in a 100 sqm apartment, but only have one air conditioner on. In the main bedroom. Me, wife and baby stay in there and let the MIL enjoy the tropical conditions in the rest of the house.

I knew a Brit guy who had a similar apartment, company paid. A gf moved in and had every AC on constantly. The company refused to pay the 2.5k bill.

If the aircon is on, but nobody in the the room, we draw the curtains to insulate the room. Need to apply the same insulation ideas to keep the heat out as you would to keep the heat in.

i lived in a roof-terrace homemade annex. the house owner was from the same town as my wife's family.
I had to pay 349 for electricity. after a whole year.

"is theresome mistake?"
my wife said no.

the apartment before that, there was that stupid prepaid card system, for extra-pricy electric: i once lost 200yuan after 8 warm days. ridiculous.

We have central air. It's around 200-300 for the whole summer. We use fans at night.

Some of you are getting screwed, my electric bill with aircon is 50-60. I just use it in my room throughout the night and on weekends. I rent my own place.

This is my third summer in Changsha. The temperatures in summer usually peak around 40 c. Never had a bill higher than 120 for one month. Maybe the cost of electricity is cheaper from city to city. All I know is... I've been pretty damn lucky so far.

I rent my own place so I always turn off all the power to my apartment when I go out. I also always eat out so I keep my refrigerator and freezer turned off as I have no need for them. Those things are basically two ACs running 24/7 every day of the year.

lived in 2 apartments with different roommates (both of them liked when it's cool).  120m and 70m. 120m was in the old house 6 floors. we paid around 600-700 rmb in june. 70m quite new building 30 floors. 200rmb was enough for at least 1,5 months.
