Q: When do we have to get health check for visa?

Still a little confused with all the different visas and regulations...for which visa is it required to get a health check with the dreaded blood test, etc?

Why don't we need it for the others?

Depends on what Provience you are in. For one, if you're over the age of 45 some 50 it's required once a year. I've never known for anyone on a tourist visa to be required to take a medical. Most proviences require a medical for a anything over 6 months with X, F and Z visas for this will turn you into a temporary Resident and most schools will require one to ensure the safety of their students. I have only taken one in Inner Mongolia, when I moved to Tianjin they said it was of no need for my age is under 40. Again, your location would be of upmost importance if you need a better answer.

health check depends on the rule of whatever visa you are going to have . but reality about this health check is just making money nothing serious is there in it , x-ray , blood test, height, weight and other normal stuff.. for all this depends on province and city you will pay the money. blood test to see whether you have any harmful disease or not. though its good to have a medical check every year in china as their are many dieases and threats which you can not imagine... haha

i even had a health check once for a stay of less than 6 months. i dont know why, probably because they changed my visa into residence permit?!? but still, it was 4 months only. i was suprised that time because i actually expected that i do not have to go there

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
