Q: Where to buy German food?

Hi

Where to buy authentic German food in Shanghai?

Like authentic Bratwurst, mustard, bread, Sauerkraut etc.?

I am not looking for a restaurant. I would like to go to one store that has everything.

Well you could try my beloved Wal-mart but I doubt they would have everything you need in just that one store. You may be able to pick up some of your items at the Wal-mart super center they have in Shanghai and for the rest if you can't get everything you need go to Carrefour. I know they have all types of imported goods. I have been to one smaller store that has a lot of imported goods, but this was in a shopping mall in one of those smaller marketplaces. Try the shopping malls with the international market places like BHM I think it's called.

Ah Bratwurst und Sauerkraut! Now I am hungry. I am not a Shanghai expert but I have found some German items in international supermarkets here. I even found Dr.Oetker Vanille Zucker in one supermarket in Beijing but have yet to find Semmel Knoedel anywhere in China.  My wife talks about Taobao a lot so I think you can find some German foods there too.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
