I don't know about Qingdao but in my city there is a small local baking shop, that sells baking supplies, they have random stuff like canned coconut milk and lime juice in a bottle.  So I would say look around for one.

Last summer I was in Qingdao they have a crazy big supermarket filled with imports, in the Hai er shopping center I believe is the name.  Its filled with fancy designer labels and downstairs has this giant supermarket.

Thank you, I willl pay a visit over there asap :D

Hello,

I've visited many convenience stores between Guangdong and Jiangsu province, and I've seen lots of white bags of powdered coconut milk. I even bought some because I was curious, and it sure was delicious. Look for 椰子奶 with a big picture of a milky coconut on them. You can also copy and paste the Chinese and ask your local supermarkets.

Look around. Most small (and big) supermarkets have these for sale. I know Walmart does as well, since I just saw a package recently.

Thanks, I will try again in the powder department..so far Ive only come across very sugary & mildy coconuty stuff so have been avoiding powders altogether hehe

Try Metro.  Also, I think I've seen coconut milk at the Carrefour on Hong Kong Rd.  Good luck.

Do you want pure coconut milk?  If you aren't too picky try this cheap coconut juice

You can make some very easily if you have a blender and can get fresh coconut or packaged shredded coconut (unsweetened is best). I make my own on occasion.

Makes: 2 cups

Ingredients

1 cup finely shredded coconut (unsweetened)
2-1/2 cups hot water (divided)

Directions

  1. You want the water to be hot, but not boiling. Add 1-1/2 cups hot water, along with the entire 1 cup of coconut into a blender. Blend at high speed for 3 minutes.
  2. Set a very fine mesh strainer over a bowl or large glass measuring cup. Pour the blender contents into the strainer, and use a spoon or spatula to press the milk out of the pulp. This first pressing is coconut cream. (Alternatively, you can pour into a cheesecloth and squeeze the liquid from the pulp.)
  3. Transfer the dry-pressed coconut pulp back into the blender and add another cup of hot water. Blend at high speed again, this time for 2 minutes.
  4. Set the fine mesh strainer back over the bowl or large glass measuring cup. Pour the blender contents into the strainer and press the milk out of the pulp again.  This second pressing is light coconut milk. Together, they make a beautiful full-fat coconut milk.
  5. Refrigerate leftover milk. It will separate in the fridge, with the fat rising to the top. Simply heat it gently in a saucepan and stir it with a whisk to blend it into milk again.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
