Any xinhua book store will have a travel section with at least a few travel guides... but normally few, if any, good guides about traveling in China.

On Fuzhou Road, (福州路, between people's square and the bund) there is the Foreign Language Bookstore.

Further down towards the bund is the biggest bookstore in Shanghai (7 floors), they have a decent collection of english books, including travel books.

I also saw some Lonely Planet Guides at Carrefour in Gubei.
