Q: Where can I check if the school or an agency is reliable?

I first found a very interesting job offer (on this website) with a direct link to the school's website, which was really attractive, so I responded and then had an interview with them. After the interview I decided to find some feedback online about the school and what I found was enough for me to reject the idea of applying with them.  Is it possible to find some "black list" anywhere online? I would appreciate some links.

When choosing a school, certainly look online for any and all information.

also make sure you ask as many questions as you can and request photos - not those clearly taken from a website

but ultimately you will have to go with your gut feeling about a place.

Google "China school and agent blacklist" there are many blacklists out there and some are more current than others. You can also check at http://eslwatch.info and look in the China section. My flatmate uses http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=617489 Personally i don't use agents.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
