Q: Where can I get a HK visa in Guangzhou?

I'm from Bangladesh, married to a Chinese for almost 2 years and I live in Guangzhou...however, I have always wanted to visit Hong Kong but don't really how to get the visa. I asked several agents and most of them wanted me to pay full payment in advance and hand over my passport to start the procedure..

One of them was generous to tell me that my passport will be sent to Beijing and exactly after a month, the HK visa will be issued...The whole process kind of sounded fishy to me...

Is there any trusting method or agent that could help me to get the visa without any hassle? Anyone's help would be highly appreciated.

Thank you

To get visa in any foreign or 'not so foreign' (HK) country in China, your passport probably must be heading to Beijing, where all Embassies are located.

You could probably find reliable information about HK visa at Public Security Bureau (Exit Entry Police) or Foreign Expert Bureau.

For FEB, you will probably need Chinese translator, depending on how big is the city you are in.

As per your claim of having a Bangladesh passport, yuou will be required to obtain a visa to enter Hong Kong.  The fact that you are married to a Chinese national does not change that at all.

In Gunagzhou (or elsewhere in China), you will have to go to the local PSB (Public Security Bureau), Entry Exit Office to request it with the proper documentation, photos, money, etc. Makes no difference to you if the visa is issued locally, or your passport has to be send to Beijing to get the visa. There is no need to have a visa agency at all, it is a very straight forward and easy process, you can do it yourself with the help of your husband translating for you.

you need to send your passport to HK immigration bureau instead of Beijing.

It takes 4 -8 weeks to apply for visa in HK.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
