Q: where will I find internet cafes in Guilin?

You wont be allowed to use them. I spent days in Guilin looking around for one I was allowed in, but all of them have these swipe machines for ID cards. Our passports/visas are supposed to be used for ID card stuff, but the machines don't recognize them.

I wanted to stay away from a techie phone, I'll have to spend a week figuring it out. I'll try drag my GF along and use her ID.
Are the cafes easy to find, GF says they don't have them, but I know thats wrong.

They're absolutely everywhere, but generally hidden away on a second floor. Just ask around, there will probably be one within walking distance, even in the poor areas.

If worse comes to worse, there's definitely two really big ones about three or four blocks south of the gigantic Shangri-la hotel. Kind of out of the way, but that's where my apartment was near, so it's the area I know best.
