A city in Hunan called ******* or something like that, just outside of Changsha.  Really poor, dirty, run-down, abysmal, not even third world.  Just awful.

Kaiwen:

Chairman Mao will love you for that!

I believe it's his hometown.

When it was on originally (before the profanity filter got it), it looked like a mispelt version of XiangTan.

A small industrial town near Baotou in Inner Mongolia called XueJiaWan. Nothing but power stations and coal mines. The smog is awful. The taste of sulphur in the air is palpable. Nothing else that can really be said about it.

tbh on some of these forums... I've heard the most obnoxious people ranting this and that but in reality we all know those people are just computer nerds who just hide behind a screen 24/7. You know who you are don't try and deny it.

would it be someone that posts 3 ridiculous questions everyday and then answers every single post, often with pure gibberish ?..........

What are you talking about? Are you saying my question is a "rant"? Actually it's not. It's a legitimate question to find out about places that don't necessarily appear in guidebooks.

The toilet in my factory office.  I cry daily.

thedude:

I have also been to places 1000 times worse....but there was no chance I would actually to to crap in them.

This was my initiation to Chinese squat toilets 2 years ago when I couldn't hold on for my hotel after work.

I took off my pants for fear of splatter....good times...now I can lay a deuce wherever I need to.  At least I don't have to sit on it!
