Q: Which is better to buy/use in China: smart phones or tablets?
Am thinking about my next upgrade and I'm torn between the two. I would love a big screen to do the multimedia apps that I most want to use this device for, but I need a phone too. That, and being in a crowded subway is rather convenient even though it doesn't seem to bother other commuters.
Just wondering where everyone stands on this "space-age old" debate - especially on the China angle.

Presently my mind seems to like the Samsung Galaxy Mega, it's a really clunky phone and a small tablet in one, but in reality I would probably just pick any smart phone with 5" screen, my eyes are still good enough for reading on that screen size, or watch movies.
A tablet without 3G has no purpose outside of the home, the severe lack of reliable free wifi makes it useless, it can of course be tethered to a phone but don't want to carry to much gear around.

Well, I have both...
. I don't find my tablet useless. I watch a lotta movies, can do that in bed, train, plane, whatever. Perfect for traveling...and private classes! You can walk in almost any place now and get free wifi. Love the Nexus 10 cuz the speakers are at the front of the screen, a contender for it is only the Sony Z tablet, never cared about Apple.
My phone (HTC One S ) fits in any pocket, don't find big phones very useful, they look ridiculous when you are making a call (don't look very comfortable to hold either).

I just bought one of those new Samsung combo phones/tablets. A little learning curve but otherwise great. 7 inch screen.
