1. Bad drivers - UNDENIABLY TRUE 2. Sneaky - SO TRUE, SO VERY TRUE 3. Bad breath - OHHHHH TRUE 4. Studious, good at math - YEP 5. Rude, loud, socially retarded - OBVIOUSLY any more?
Contrary to your intention of turning this post into a race baiting Chinese bashing thread, most of our complaints are strictly environmental and not racial.
There is a MASSIVE difference between Chinese in Canada that came as young children and were raised in the west...and those that arrived later in life.
Environment....morals, ethics, knowledge and real education makes a huge difference.
I would complain just as much if I lived in India or Russia....not about a race of people but about behavior and customs learned because of environment and government.
So whether you work for the CCP or ECC please go race bait elsewhere.
bojackhorseman:
That's why I wrote "not waisis", you paranoid jackass
thedude:
First of all...WTF are you referencing??
Second....fine...if you are legit I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
But no race baiting for hits.
Lord_hanson:
@bojack, no you didn't write waisis, you wrote that about not being attracted to Chinese women anymore.
bojackhorseman:
Oh sorry dude, my bad, that was another post. I'm only racists towards eels. I just don't like them. They're slippery and slimy and they haunt my dreams.
When I first came here I expected the law to be harshly enforced and for police and soldiers to be on every street corner watching their citizens closely. It didn't take long to realise there isn't even basic rule of law here.
Good at math? Maybe a select few. Amazes me in shops when you buy 2 or 3 items and they use a calculator to work out the bill. In my experience they are no good at simple mental arithmetic.
hunny797:
and how they pass the new hundred yuan bill twice through the counting machine...they have to confirm twice it is a single 100 yuan bill
expatlife26:
Yeah I work in an analytics role and i'm known as the "math guy" in the office.
I do have a minor in mathematics to go with my finance degree but it's more that i'm better at practically applying concepts to excel spreadsheets than that i'm especially versed in calculus or anything.
Taking tests and applying practical knowledge are two extremely different things.
RiriRiri:
I'm considered a life hacks mastermind just because I don't mind waiting 2 more seconds for the next empty elevator which allows me to arrive a minute before everyone else stacked up in the first elevator.
High end building high end offices... but nope.
They can't take their alcohol - True
They are not open to new ideas - True
They are studious - False
They will eat anything - True and False
Chinese bodies are different - FALSE, FALSE VERY F*****G FALSE!
Disclaimer - These are of course very broad categories and many Chinese people do not fit into the stereotype. Except the last one......
they treat there children like pets and there pets like children-True
bojackhorseman:
LOL I never thought of it that way before, but so true!
Scandinavian:
well, when my son was 6 months old the MIL asked "Do you think he can think?"... I am presently devising a way to show the MIL that the dog is capable of thought too.
Shining_brow:
Remember the Simpson's episode when Lisa devises the science project - is a hamster smarter than my brother..???
They are frugal and financially responsible- true for the older generation but not the younger one
expatlife26:
Totally true.
Nobody who spends 2-3 months pay on a phone is in any way frugal.
They might live like total shit to save money but if it's just to buy consumer crap it doesn't count.
- They do cut corners in every way possible and on everything - TRUE
- Fake moral rules and no ethics - TRUE
- They do not integrate when they move abroad - TRUE
- They let you die in the middle of the road if you're hurt - TRUE
- They never go to a one-to-one fight - TRUE
Everyone here knows kung fu. I haven't seen much evidence of that in my time here.
damn i have never been a country that is this much dispised by foreigners. lol. seriously i cannot find 1 expat here who actually likes the chinese. The only country in the world that unifies people all around,
Hotwater:
I actually like the Chinese people in general. They just have some odd (to my thinking) way of doing things.
bojackhorseman:
There is a shelf-life on enjoying your time in China and having respect for the Chinese people in general. Some people get fed up after a year, for me it was after four years, others stay until they're married and then they're stuck. Once I learned the language and got to know the true China, that was it for me.
I have some really close Chinese friends, but they are not typical Chinese people--they've been abroad or have at least had their eyes opened by exposure to the world beyond the wall.

The only Chinese stereotypes that I was aware of before coming here were...
Big country..many people...everyone eats rice and they're all short and look the same.
Yes, yes, no, no, no.
The size of you know what, I can't be the only one who doesn't fit in the condoms here while I never have had this problem back home.
cub:
come on u two, u are kidding right? ive heard this is a rumor the west made up!
RandomGuy:
@cub: no kidding, i also used to think this was a western-made stereotype before i came to china, but after so many years here i know plenty of chinese girls all across the country who can back up my claims.
