Used to smoke Zhong Nan Hai too, but frankly, they're all crap.

I smoke zhong nan hai myself. Why is that? Why do so many expats smoke zhong nan hai? Weird.

I think it's 'cause they look and taste a little like Marlboro Lights.

It's because they actually taste like tobacco, they don't have those god damned flower flavors. Ugh.

In Hebei I smoked red diamond 'Hong Zuan'

Now I am in Yunnan and I can't get them here. In three years they were the only brand I found that I liked.. I get my friend in Hebei to mail them to me here.

Zhongnanhai are the most acceptable cigs I've smoked in China.

Golden Bridge (Jin Qiao) are also pretty good.

The rest is just flavored cigarettes that have this godawful aftertaste.

Sept Wolves (the red and gold package - 15 RMB). There are cheaper versions (anywhere from 6 RMB up to 35, but the red and gold packs are the best).
