Q: Which jobs are the best in China, where you don't need a lot of experience?

Hello everyone,
I currently live in Germany and I teached english during my gap-year in China and I have decided that I really would like to live in China. Right know I am studying chemistry and starting next year I will switch to the department of education, with english and chemistry as my subjects.
I have looked at a couple of job offers and it seems that there is a good demand for chemistry teacher and this is currently my aim.
I would like to her about your suggestions, what do you think?
A german as an english - chemistry teacher, despite that there are many job offers where they demand only natives?
Or are there other degrees which can get me a good job in china, without much work experiences needed?
I am looking forward for your answers.

For any non-teaching job in China you need a minimum post-graduation experience before you can get a work permit.

For teaching jobs it depends on the province. For real teaching jobs at international schools they all want a few years experience.

P.s. You "taught" English, not "teaches" it. Teacher might sound right as it's past tense but it's not grammatically correct

P.S.-t-t-t.

You thought ... word 'province' should be capitalised , did you?

And, 'I thou, I thou, I see a putty cat ... ' blah, blahhhh

You need to do a couple of years of work in your home country doing what you are qualified as.

If you will be a qualified chemistry teacher, do that. If you get your degree in Germany, then come to China to teach English, you will have trouble getting a job when you go back.

I know some guys who done their degrees, came to China to teach English, got married, had kids, and now can't go home because they have not used their degrees. It's called the esl teacher trap. Who wants to recruit a 35 year old graduate Engineer, as an engineer, when he has been doing esl since he graduated?

I have also met highly skilled specialist teachers who done their time at home, and now travel the world working at international schools.

You can do esl in your summer holidays as you do your time getting your experience as a specialist teacher at home.

Take your time. And good luck Smile

DBushiri:

Yeah I will get at least my master degree, but I think I will skip the qualification as a teacher for know, because this will take one or two years and as far as I know I can do this any time later :D

Kindergarten.  None teaching: Standing next to the boss or sit in during meets.

icnif77:

I disagree! Kids must like you to be successful!

Not everybody is gifted as such, what makes teaching kids very difficult!

There is a great need here for people who can design clothes for dogs especially little fluffy socks that can be worn over the paws.

I guess the easiest job for a foreigner to obtain is probably... an English teacher or

working in hospitality/marketing of some sort. They like foreigners to walk in front of their new shops or whatever to get noticed.

This is quite a bit of demand for academic subjects taught by foreigners. Some provinces are easier to get into that others... the Tier 1 cities more require top qualifications.

Language/KTV service/prostitute

Language, if you still have your mother tongue, this is very easy when you live in less developed areas. As cities like Shanghai or Beijing have already full of foreigners and competition so you may be not easily find a job like this.

KTV service, Chinese like to sing in KTV to celebrate the together time. Some foreigners who are beautiful, especially females are very popular. They sit in the room and keep customers' company to make them happy. Tips can be a lot. It is 100% true. This may be a little risky if you don't want to see nasty Chinese men/women.

Prostitute, some rich as fuck Chinese men/women need foreign 'love, sex, dreams'. Get close to them. They don't care about money if they are lonely or to flex at heart.

I will add a new answer to reply to the OPs post, so he get notification.

You could start investigating German companies that have facilities in China. For example, there is a Bayer plant a block away from where I live. German companies seem to be very de-centralised with lots of smaller manufacturing facilities spread all over the globe.

You could start checking their websites for jobs in China. You never know. I know of a few Germans over here on ex-pat (hate that word) packages.

As a wee add, a few British guys I know who worked here in industry, went home, and got jobs that needs them to travel to China. There are loads of western companies who want full time or part time western educated workers out here.

DBushiri:

I know those options and this was in the begging my goal, but I would prefer to go to China rather quickly. As a chemistry teacher I need at least the bachelor, but I will aim for the master which will  take like 5 years. But as a chemical engineer I need at least :

a master + PhD + work experience ( at least 2 years) and I need to have luck and really good grades to even get in such a top company and in the end I most likely will get the same pay and it will take at least 8 years and there is no guarantee when and if they will even send me to china...

I am an engineer. I dont get it. You are doing a masters in chemistry, you talk about top jobs requiring a PHD, but your desire to be in China is such that you will finish your studies then bail out to be an English teacher. Take your time dude/dudess :-)

More jobs will be online. You can start your digital enterprise by yourself. Anything to purchase? Go to alibaba http://www.alibaba.com/ or gttown http://www.gttown.com/ . They will definitely help you earn a lot.

ScotsAlan:

Spam. Do you have any concept of what a chemist does?
