For me it is a really tough toss up. 

I like Mike because he calls it as he sees it and even if it is obnoxious and arrogant, he spills the truth (plus I am obnoxious and arrogant too). And royceH because he is laid-back, does whatever he wants and in many ways spills the truth too (hey, honesty can be big in a place with a land full of liars). 

For female user... I would say Sorrel and Vicky... why Vicky you say? Because we all need a bit of sanity and insanity in our lives. 

PhD Simian because he's French, doesn't bathe, and doesn't get offended when you call him out on any of two points out of three.

I'd say Dr. Monkey is the most insightful poster. He always seems to hit stuff right on the head. Mike.... well I certainly wouldn't say he's my favorite but I often look forward to hearing what he has to say on different topics. He knows how to push people's buttons and sometimes takes it way too far being judgmental but he's also spot on about a lot of stuff that others are too polite or politically correct to mention. Coin is definitely my favorite for morbid negativity about China that is highly insightful and also spot on in so many ways. I could go on and on but I joined this forum because I really like the mix of personalities on here.

Royceh without a doubt.  His laid back, positive outlook on life is the definition of cool.

He is so cool that his warm shop bought beer sublimes by the time he cracks the cap.

Smartest?  Dr M without a doubt.

Best person to argue with? Hulk.  I had a great epic with him over forced pregnancy terminations.

Person who I am most likely to meet up with for the first time within the next year... probably Mike.  I am just up the road after all.

The happiest?  BHGAL.  He is one of the happiest dudes I have ever had the pleasure to click glasses with.

What about Samsara?  That bloke can write so well.  Gotta be real smart....must have a huge brain.  Yesterday I read his blog from 2013 about the psyche of Chinese people.  It's the best damn thing I've ever read in my life.

When he writes something, it's gotta be read.

Also must mention the usual suspects, you know who you are.

I'd put my vote on Samsara too. But is he cool.... a learned writer is not always cool.  I guess that leaves everyone else....

most of the regular users are cool. a few have an agenda, or their reasoning is burdened by vanity or some other obsession. the rest try to be informative. if your posts have unique insights on socially relevant topics, you're cool in my book. bonus points if you can make people laugh about the hypocrisy of this non-democracy

Icnif.  Scan is right; the question is about cool.  Icnif is definitely cool.  Picture him now..... diddlybopping along the road completely oblivious to the reality all around him.  Almost certainly has headphones on, thus blocking out totally any other distracton from what's going on inside his brain.

If you are happy enough in your own self not to be affected/burdened by the shackles of normality, well... then you are cool.

There are plenty of posters I consider "cool", anyone who contributed to intelligent discourse with maturity and took care to write comprehensibly is cool. Those who made me (and others) really think, and took the effort to add unique insights are super cool.

There are also a few who are arrogant and childish, and don't contribute anything worth reading, who are less cool.

It's not needed to mention names, since, in all cases, they should know who they are.

I think all the posters on this website are cool and tend to be more honest about their experiences in China. Everyone needs to vent now and then.
