Q: Who would you punch in the face here, if could get get away with it?
I mean, you go about your daily routine in China but there is usually one person in your life here you just can't stand and WOULD love to punch them in the face as hard as you could and just walk away... well I get that feelings sometimes...
So who would it be? The local convenient store owner that is rude whenever you come in? The foreigner at the local bar that keep complaining about China?
For me it would be... simple. I would love to punch my wife's brother-in-law in the face. He is an arrogant cocky government Chinese official guy. Works in the police station finance department.
And possible one foreigner at our local bar that is always like the "LOOK AT ME" - "LOOK AT ME" type.

My life is remarkably free of objectionable people now.
My employer and my closest work colleague are both honest, good-natured women, and my social life involves only a few close friends who are interested in the same quiet activities that I am. I don't go to bars or nightclubs, so I never encounter that type of expat who tells me I need to get out more ("having a life" apparently means hanging out in expat bars 24/7 and trying to pick up KTV hostesses). And my students are all marvelous.
All that aside, ...
Samsara's two most recent brutal revenge fantasies:
1. My girlfriend's cousin is about 17 (she's a vain, selfish girl, but that's not the point) and has this enormous, creepy, dead-eyed, possibly learning-impaired boyfriend who no one can figure out why a young, good-looking girl got involved with.
When I first met him I thought, wow, this girl is really generous, going out with such a big, creepy-looking yeti. Their relationship must be based on something meaningful. Then I started to discern a bit more about his personality, and began to wonder if some form of blackmail or coercion was involved. Which my girlfriend then confirmed.
This boy told the girl that if she ever tries to leave him he's going to torture and burn her parents. His whole family consists of unemployed, dangerous-looking people, and I think at least a few of them would make good on his promise.
The problem is that whenever anyone tries to talk to the girl about it, she gets extremely angry and defensive, and says that she loves him and will never leave him. I have a feeling there's a sex-blackmail thing going on too (not good for a young girl who will never leave her small hometown).
The day I found out about all this, I kept trying to concoct scenarios in my brain where I would have a reasonable pretext to punish him. I almost never have the inclination to hurt people, but this guy is a serious psychopath, looks like the Butcher from Diablo, and would be a satisfying boss fight.
2. My girlfriend and I took some of her friends (all young women in their mid-20s) swimming. One of them (who is extremely short-sighted, almost blind) was really taking to it --- this was her first time in a pool --- and then she got grabbed on the inner thigh by a pervert while she was floating by herself in the middle of the pool. He could obviously see she was alone, and that she could not see very well, and was a vulnerable target.
I didn't pay attention to her swimming back, and only noticed a few minutes later that all of them were clinging to the edge of the pool looking extraordinarily miserable together. I had no idea what had gone wrong, and finally my girlfriend told me.
I would not have been averse to a public bloodbath on that occasion.

My girlfriend's aunt and uncle know. She told them immediately after their daughter confided in her. They are very much in favour of saving their daughter and taking their chances with torture and burning, but the daughter goes crazy whenever confronted.
As to busting the guy in the pool in the nose, so would I, repeatedly, until his nose was an internal nose. Unfortunately, my girlfriend's friend can't see more than a few centimetres. Acting on her vague estimation of where the guy was (5 minutes after the incident) didn't seem feasible, despite my biological compulsion to destroy.
