They kill at table tennis, badminton, some gymnastics, track and swimming sometimes.
But they can't compete in soccer, basketball, etc.
Have you ever watched people here try to work together?

It depends how you define 'team sports'.
In London 2012 Olympics 'team sport' categories, China got 8 Golds, 4 silver, 2 bronze medals. (out of total 88).

the selfish one child policy, the way people cut in line, the way they walk on the street or drive like they are the only person on the road or sidewalk, the get rich is glorious diatribe, pick your poison, they are the causes.
also sports like football require space to play, many schools just dont have the land and the rich kids pay off the coaches to get the spots that should go to the real talent who may be poor. also kids are warehoused in china and brain washed, you cant have sports competition between schools and after school activities, my god we might have unwed mothers, juvenile crime, all those bad western evil outcomes. so school is prison in most cases until dark, some high schools serve dinner because you go home after dark. the schools playing each other on friday and saturday nights would be good for team sports but too much freedom for the sheep that have to be controlled by the ccp.
you get the best sports money can buy here, sadly the rich teams dont win as much as people think they do. ask los angeles and new york what they think of san antonio in the nba.
years ago the new york yankee snobs were all upset at the atlanta braves kicking their ass with 30 percent of their payroll cost. poor butt burn.
Chinese guys suck at team sports, but the women certainly don't! They excel at soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey etc.
I asked why? in adult class one day, the general consensus was that, the women play for the team, the men...for themselves.
I tend to agree.
