Q: Why did the chinese doctor refuse to understand?

I have had allergies and sinus problems since i was a kid. It comes and goes irrespective to the seasons. Went to a doctor, he simply refused to accept that it was not a cold.

Ja, Ja, I wonder if they also hook you up with an IV and some antibiotics as a "cure".

No, seriously now, doctors (medical) in China are infallible, when they speak, everyone listens.  So, you are wasting your time arguing with him or her.  My GF and her daughter were both diagnosed with a severe anemia, doctor prescribed some vitamins for 6 months.  I opened my big mouth and requested instead s shot of B-12, followed a month after by another blood analysis and a second shot if required.  I further added that iron absorption by body of pills was very slow and inefficient, an injection was faster and more productive in time and results.  Of course, since I am not a "doctor" no one paid attention to me.  Now, almost three months later, they still have anemia, are taking the pills at a tune of 600 Rmb per month, but still have faith because "doctors in China are never wrong".

So, maybe get some cortisone pills or shots and put a stop to your allergies, and next time do not visit that doctor again.

Actually, my opinion on doctors is not very high neither here nor in the West.

In my second year of Law School, I woke up one night with appendicitis and went to the emergency room. I explained the situation to the doctor who got really "prickly" asking me what medical school did I study.

Then, he gave me  some diuretics. He kept insisting that since one of my legs did not hurt, it could not possibly be appendicitis.

Long story short, he finally agreed to operate saying that i was wasting my insurances money.

Next morning, he was surprised. My appendix was indeed gangrenous. That was in 1998. Too many doctors on both sides of the planet think they are infallible.

crimochina:

right o docs in general are too pretenious , and docs in us are taking different kind of bribes they get perks from drug companies if they meet quotas. not close to as bad in china but . the medical industry world wide needs to change.

Criteria here is so damn different than anywhere else. And seems to be that everytime doctors choose the most opposite way to what we know or what we think we know.

At least in public hospitals doctors seem to be in rush of getting the waiting room empty so they rush to take as many patients as possible. Is sad but true in most of cases they are wrong and let patients leave with the same problem or even make it bigger. I say this according to my experience seen with at least 10 friends who I have gone with to hospital and after meeting the doctor my friends know doctor was wrong and just took the easy way with a simple or stupid answer.

When is something serious I go to at least 3 different doctors, different level doctors and hospitals should be. When something easy I go just to one.
