I know many will treat this question with possibly funny replies having to do with sex etc. and lord knows a good laugh from time to time is needed in China, but I am really curious as to why this is.
Is it cultural or physiological? Their legs actually look like an upside-down Y with the gap starting at their knees. I have never noticed the same issue with men/boys, so I don’t think it’s the toilets or the low seats in the class rooms causing it.
rubing? I didn't notice any rubing going on... You must stare hard to notice something like that. lol!

No not really, although I have no trouble admitting that many Chinese girls have amazing backsides and legs. I actually noticed it first in America while standing at a crosswalk waiting for the light to change. I thought it was just some standing posture the girl used, but then noticed it didn’t change even when she walked. It is generally such a pronounced change that it’s hard to miss anymore; their knees touch and there is a gap of around 10 inches at their feet. Oddly enough even if the girl has fat thighs, a growing problem in China, her knees will often still touch. It isn’t all girls but I would have to say it’s the majority of them. I can’t exactly tell a Chinese from a Korean etc., so maybe the girls in America weren’t Chinese, but I know that all of them in this small town are Chinese. I have asked both a Chinese man and a Chinese girlfriend this question and they too can see what I am talking about, but have no idea why it’s this way. Since a woman had no idea that leads me to believe it is physiological, but just wondering what others thoughts are about it. Ok, I just notice the typo/ spelling error my bad :)
i know what you mean , i do not know if they are "survivors" of bow legged surgery . this is serious, bow legged surgery is common and very safe in other countries, but in china it is a bloody mess
It is called genu valgum or knock knees, a mild degree of the condition is a common variation, more prevalent in females than males, however, a severe bent outward knees could be anatomic abnormality. I don't think it is more common in Chinese women, I have seen people from different places with that condition. The following link offers more explanation:
