Q: Why does lamb tate so funny?

I bought fresh lamb and made roast and another time lamb knuckle. it taste like goat someone told me.

Maybe it is goat because they don't have a lot of sheep here and they think goat is sheep. I grew up on a big property and I know what you are saying, it is not lamb, it is really goat what I have seen.

yea it has put me off from lamb......... i wont try it again in China

Don‘t do that. In north China, we don't have goat... U r invited to inner mongolia, will let u taste the real lamb....

maybe its just mutton and not lamb,i.e lamb young and sweet mutton older but more tastier for stews and things

Maybe it had been eating something different. They say beef in Europe tastes different than beef in North America because they don't feed them the same thing. Might be s similar reason.

bascially, the northern china's lamb taste better than southern, in northern china, there have good grass, good sheep and good cook style. so , if you have chance go to Inner Mongolia or Liao ning province, you must try local roast lamb. Smile
