According to this fact, settlers in US aren't native speakers of English language and can't teach English. I am so confused ...

what fact?? what are you on about, and what is your definition of a native speaker???? english is the official language in the us
americans are brainwashed to believe we are using all the earths resources and the all the problems of the world are our fault, so having an official language, would be labeled discrimination and we would have something else to be brainwashed to feel guilty about, no worries though, in 30 years , the official language will be spanish and nobody will care about english anymore.

Don't worry too much, entrenched hierarchies are one Hell of a drug.
Most Americans are native English speakers.
Official language has absolutely no relevance to native language.
Maori is an official language of New Zealand, but less than 1% of the population speak it.
In USA, the Federal Government has no authority to declare an official national language, even kids in grammar school know that. It is up to the individual States to declare an official language if they so desire. Before making comments learn your facts. There is no relation what so ever between the official language of a nation, and if its nationals are native speakers or not. Take for example Puerto Rico. Their official languages are English and Spanish. Now, can you tell me which one is their native language ?
Xpat.John:
In Hong Kong, the official language is English. Even though very few speak it at a fluent level.
CHeck your facts again BUb. There are more English speakers in America than the rest of the world. That's not combined it's by country by country. The UK and Canada rank up there as well!
Why isn't English an official language in China? Mao knows the Chinese speak English better than American capitalist monkey pig-dogs.
if you have a problem with traveler why not attack his points or ideas? to say americans are not native english speakers because most of our ancestors came from another country is backwards logic.
the overwhelming majority of americans grew up with english as the only language in their homes.
even those that spoke a different language at home spoke english outside at school/work. and grew up on english television. so their english level is the same.
setting an official language is cosmetic and pointless.
att all non-native engl speakers who feel offended. dig up the posts by unqualified native engl speakers who complained about being cheated. you will see that they were piled on as well.
dig up the posts about qualified native engl speakers who complained about being cheated because they were working on a tourist visa or student visa, they were piled on as well.
if you are not qualified to teach english or are trying to do it illegally, it is between you and the school. but if you post a question about it, you make it our business, and open yourself up for ridicule.
some teachers make it their business anyway because it drives salaries down, that is their right to believe that.
i do not care, but don't bring my country into your pucking mess.

Silverstein: I would suggest you start a new thread against me, specifically mentioning my name. It seems to be the trend these days.
Don't forget to put a sentence in there telling me I'm not allowed on that thread...
Silverstein:
I have no problem with anyone here, including traveler. I still have a lot of questions to ask about the US and Canada and I am looking forward to get great answers from people of experience to satisfy my curiosity. If you find my posts rude, just PM me and I will delete my post. I don't want to let someone ache all the day because of a question posted for curiosity.
