In Shenyang there is a LOT of foreign models already since it is so close to Russia.  Especially in the summer because Shenyang is one of the favored tourist spots.

And yes, China mainly wants to see Chinese models.  So that makes the few spots that are open even harder to compete for.

???? How does not getting a model job make Chinese racist? Other than the fact that they are racist, but I do not believe that is justifiable cause to claim this over a modeling job. If you are female, no problem, send all your documents and photos to me and I'll judge them over a cup of coffee, be sure they are Victoria Secrets style photos, it is the only way I can truly judge your talent. If I deem you suitable, I shall then promote you accordingly. If you are a guy, really, a model, really? If you haven't noticed the Chinese guys dress more feminine than girls, you do not have a shot.

As Xpat John has said, there are a lot of foreign models in Shenyang!  The biggest modeling jobs will be taken by models from overseas, mostly Europe, and not offered to guys and gals already here looking for a few extra yuan.  I have seen models here from Italy, Germany and France over the last couple of years, they come into town, earn big bucks and then head back to Europe.  

You also need to bear in mind that at the end of August, the 12th National Games are being held in and around Shenyang and there will be, understandably, a greater focus on local beauties over the next few months.

Maybe it's because Shenyang has no XXXXXXL clothes that need modelling.

You act like someone owes' you something. You should take a look at the careers of some real models like Tyra Banks etc. , If you've ever read their biographies you'd know that modeling is not an easy job as many of the top models have also at one point in their careers been rejected repeatedly until they finally made it! I do watch America's Next top Model so I sort of know these things!!
