Personally I hate the word however it pops up more and more and seems to be excepted widely these days.
Your thoughts please

Not sure if Faith Hill was an English teacher but I love the song.
No it ain't grammerly correct but is widely used in daily speech in the north of England. I love coming across different English dialects as a lot of the old British ones are dying out.

been around forever and if it is not included in normal English by now, it should be!
This is where I always argue with English majors and other grammar nazis. What is considered acceptable English has changed and is continuing to change. Deal with it.

So argue....
A) if it's grammatically incorrect, why teach it in an ESL class for university English majors? (other than as "commonly used English phrases you need to know"
B) would you consider it acceptable in academic writing?
C) if the question came up on a grammar test, would you say 'yes' or 'no'?

irrespectve correct or not ain't goin' to stop its usage.
The word 'ain't' is grammatically not correct, although it is being used in normal, daily speech. But then, there is no such word as 'grammarly', and therefore is grammatically incorrect. LOL
