Q: Work RP extension in Guangzhou, what documents ?
Hello, my 1 year RP is expiring soon, I just wanted to know what documents are needed for the extension at the PSB, me and my employer are quite lost in the official websites...
Especially on those points:
- need the health check Yes/no (I gave one the first time, I believe it is not needed after but nor sure)?
- need the criminal background Yes/no (I never gave one, I think it is a new requirement for the visa only but not sure)?
- need to go in person Yes/no?

You MIGHT need the health check. Best to get it and prepare. I just renewed in shenzhen and i needed it.
You shouldnt need the criminal background check to renew. Ive never needed it even when it was a new visa.
You will need to go yourself.
You will need to get your foreign experts certificate stamped again on a new page.
You will need a new contract. Make sure its current , because if your contract started a few months ago you might only get the visa for 8 or 10 months.
Visa photos.
Invitation letter i needed still. It was a form all in chinese explaining my job.
I cant remember the rest, we hired an hr girl to do all that and find it all out.

When I got my RP in GZ I had to almost sign in blood to take the company business license out of the company.
It varies from city to city. When I extended my RP I didn't need to hand in personally. HR did all the legwork. I provided my medical and 2 photos. HR did the contract. That's it. No criminal checks. I think it's better to ask PSB themselves on what is actually required. In China, the same PSB can have different requirements at different times. So who's to know?
