I know most everybody enjoys watermelon but has anyone noticed how much of it is being consumed in China this Summer? I use Weibo daily and for some reason not a day goes by without at least 1 or 2 people posting a picture of themself eating a watermelon in front of their computer. Like "look at me, i'm at home, chilling, eating a watermelon, there's no way it gets any better than this". Never bought a watermelon in China so no idea about price but it sure seems like almost everybody can afford them and would like to let others know when they are enjoying it. Also, when visiting people's home the woman of the house generally goes straight to the kitchen to chop up some watermelon. So what is the upside to eating watermelon everyday throughout the Summer as opposed to Canteloupe, which i find much more tasty?
haha. definitely they will survive but chinese likes to make suitation hype and even over rated. another point its cheaper, tasty and can make skip your lunch or dinner if you eat a half of it. its really healthy , rich in vitamins and minerals
This is an interesting question and one which deserves much consideration. On the one hand we have the watermelon. It is ripe, firm, juicy; it is the cheerleaders behind of tropical fruits. And on the other hand we have the canteloupe. And I don't know what that is. Never have. Nope, i'm going to have to go with the watermelon on this one.
Woah, i'm putting out fires today!
there is an answer for watermelon!
pitaya fruit right from the fridge
cut in half... get the spoon and discover new meaning of summer's survival fruit
"Look at me, I'm at home, chilling, eating a watermelon...."
Now that's funny stuff! That is the stuff of a great stand-up comedy routine. Imo
Last year the news was watermelons were blowing up. I think everybody buys them wanting to see them blow up, like Chinese firecrackers.
