Usually by hours.....could run from 150 to 200 kuai/rmb. Yeah, the private one's are like this unless it's a kid you are teaching and you are going through some agency that will pay you  after every week or sometimes per month. But if it is through you and nobody else that means no agencies could be the same day pay and range from 150 to 200 rmb.

Could range from 100 to 900 RMB per hour, greatly depends on the student and the teacher.

How good is the teacher? How qualified is he, how experienced?

A school where I once taught charged up to 900 RMB to VIP students per hour. So it is possible for some teachers to get a similar student who will pay close to the same, especially if the teacher helps the student with additional things relating to business ventures, or going overseas for work or study.

But commonly in my exp is 150 - 300 per session/hour.

PS. If you give the teacher kisses that will give a great discount.

It also depends where you are, that is, one of the big cities or in a province far removed from normality. I charge 125RMB an hour if students come to my apartment. If I have to travel I charge 150RMB an hour plus the taxi fare. As JungleLife said, extra charges apply for additional things you might do for the student.

If a student wanted private lessons at your school they would be charged 220RMB an hour. The school charges us out to other places for 300RMB an hour. That should give you a ballpark figure to work on.

By the way, teaching privately usually contravenes a contract you might have in place so in fact none of us do ANY private tutoring as it's not allowed ok?

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
