Q: Am I Blacklisted forever?

Hey guys,

I was working for a University in Dalian about 5 years ago and the situation became toxic in the 2nd year of the contract with my boss punching me over a disagreement about payment. I left the same day and never looked back.

Now, I have a new passport and I have Accepted a job at an international school in Guangzhou for Aug 2020.

If the school in Dalian reported me back in 2015 with my old passport info, will I have any issues getting a work permit in Guangzhou?

Maybe, your old school may not even have reported you. So you might be ok. Just have your new school do the paper work for your visa and see what happens. I know Aug 2020 is a ways away and that's along time to go without knowing for sure if you can get the visa. To tell you the truth, the only way you can know for sure is when you apply for your new visa. I may be wrong, but i dont think there is a database you can check that has that information.

A:A few years ago, Filipno teachers were beginning to find acceptance in training schools. I think there were special requirements for them to legally get to teach in China. I know that many Filipino teachers found their way into training schools in the southern regions of China.  I do not think they get the same salary as a typical foreigner teacher from a western nation. The benefits are not as numerous too. They are asked to work longer hours. Basically, they are seen as cheap labor, compared to the standard ESL teacher. I have heard of some manipulation of visas and holding of passports. In other words, they are often treated as third-class citizens.  I know of one training school in South China that treats Filipinos very well, but it seems to be an exception than the norm. Extremem caution and due diligence is required for these teachers.  -- nashboroguy
