Q: Anybody got a job interview through the Jobs forum on echinacities

I've had my resume on here since I joined a couple of years ago.

I completely forgot I had even posted it.

I was just wondering if your add has got you a interview or job?

and Cat  thank you for the spell check  I need it

I believe I got the job I have now through Echinacities. I think I have gotten some offers because people saw my resume, but if I did get my job here, it was by looking through ads and contacting the agent. The kind of offers you will get from those who spot your resume are probably not the kind you want. Echinacities has a lot of offers to look through, but many of them are crap and traps waiting to happen. They can't get rid of all the bad ones. Despite the fact that I like this site, you still have to keep your wits about you when dealing with job offers online.

I think all ESL job websites are rigged to the gills with traps. But in fairness I would have to say echinacities has alot to offer in many fields of work.

I guess we just have to get our fine tooth combs out.

I got a phone interview last year. I was surprised as it was an American dude who phoned me.

What you reap is what you sow so try for it and keep a good supply of red flags in your inventory. Basically it's like trying to hook up with women, you're going to go through bouts of failure before you reach success.

I don't have my CV on echinacities. I reply to job ads I am interested in.

Currently, I have talk with 4 different Schools, all from echinacities.

If you count daily ads for Native Teachers (more than 300 a day), you would assume different agents and Schools must comb through Resumes posted on echinacities.

you can but they are usually not very good.    It seems a lot of employers and job seekers are doing a lot of networking to get better opportunities.

Funny that. Never, EVER had a response to applications I made to ads on Echinacities. Grossly rude I thought but gee, it must be me!

The job I have now I got through echinacities.

But if you're just posting your resume that could be why you don't get calls. I actually applied for jobs and have had lots of calls.

I have had two good unsolicited offers from recruiters who liked my resume. Unfortunately I'm committed until July.

The response rate per application for positions on echinacities seems about the same as other sources. It certainly is not worse.

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
