Q: Are my visa and work permit and foreign expert certificate recorgnized in each province?

are me documents recognized and registered in some sort of China central computer system that connects through to each police department, what do people abrevaite it to again PSB. If I change Uni jobs and just leave without release letter can my last employer just cancel it. Is it standard that which ever new employer it is they always taper your visa to them and their institute. Want to leave my current employer at a uni to another uni, dont want any hassle with all that breaking contact bussiness, (oh ye you have to pay a fine and all that crap). Do you need that contact with last employer such as throught he release letter in order to move another job Some places can do anything as long as they are poerful in China its all very confusing to my polict ridden western mind, cheers lads and lasses.

First, I hope it isn't English you are teaching.

Second, your work permit and the associated visa are locked to your employer.  If you change jobs, your new employer will have to sponsor you for new ones.

In order to sponsor you legally, they will need a release letter from your previous employer.  Otherwise, it will be more difficult for them to get you a visa as it puts them as liable for any conflicts of interest.

If your current employer wants to get mean, they can cancel your visa if you break the contract.  It normally takes time, money and persistence to do this so most places won't do it unless you really piss them off.

For the sake of your long term career plans in China (if you have any), it is best just to grit your teeth and work out the term of your contract.

Remember, we are in their sandbox so play nice.
