Mainlanders are so fing stupid. All the driver had to do was stop the bus. Seen this a few times while on the bus, the driver never stops but swerves and I'm the only one stopping the attacker

this went viral almost all over the world. This behavior is actually common in China. It just doesn't usually end up so tragic. Maybe the perpetrator was bent on suicide.

Yeah, seen the pics, thank goodness I didn't view the footage.  What a way to get it.  Did u see the stat?  Something like 58,000 dead in road accidents in 1 year!  wow. but really when you just go and stand around and watch a roadway, well, guess it's not much of a surprise.

It's almost like they want to die...

ugh,,,,,  just seen the video.  wish I could 'un-see' that.

I remember seeing a video a few years back. Same situation - crazy peasant became enraged when he missed his stop and the 'unreasonable' bus driver wouldn't reverse the bus 1.5 km through heavy traffic to drop him off so he attacked the driver, grabbed the wheel and started yanking on it.

I'm not sure the idiots that do that even really know what they're doing when they do it. I think they're just programmed to over-react without thinking further than about 10 seconds from now and the idea that what they're doing could kill themselves and everyone on the bus never enters the mind, the only thing going through the mind is "yeah I'll show you what happens when you don't obey me, shabi".

The woman is to blame, that’s for sure, but I think the driver should have focussed on the bus  more rather than lashing out in vengeance. He should have just taken a few hits and called a passenger for assistance. Shout at her that the bus may crash. I also suspect that the bus must have misaligned wheels, cause letting go of the wheel should not cause the bus to immediately veer to the left when they are on a straight road. The only other reason is that it didn’t veer to the left but he did something suicidal in a moment of anger. In which case they are both to blame. It didn’t mention if the people are in the car are ok, the height of the bridge, or if the currents were strong, how many could swim or were some rescued.

dokken:

I just read it was a 70 m height. Survival would be improbable. I also read that the passengers may be able to sue the family of the woman and the bus driver

if you watch this video you can see a video taken from outside. Looks as if there was no attempt at correction but a deliberate veering of the bridge. Difficult to say what driver was thinking or what he was trying to do

One article I read stated a height, can't recall it, but it was high like dokken said ,, 70m,,, they are saying all 15 dead. Once you see a picture of that bridge you will know they are all dead.  It was sooooo high,,,,  wow,,,  what a terror,,,,  weird to just be going from riding in a bus to deader than he** in like 2 flat seconds.

The wifes uncle is a bus driver in GZ. An accident results in being sent to a re-education camp for 2 weeks. It seems piety to the party supercedes safe driving. For the record, uncle is a super safe driver. No way he wants to go to camp again

Danger in America comes at the hands of some nut with a Gun...in China it comes in the form of every self centred creature you are surrounded by

ambivalentmace:

I remember a story from my youth in high school, the peanut farmer was president, Jimmy (turn the other cheek) Carter, and he put in the 55 mile per hour nationwide speed limit. A Greyhound bus driver got pulled over by the gestapo California HIghway Patrol in the middle on no where and the driver threw the keys at the state trooper and told him, "you keep the damn schedule and time deadlines, I quit", the bus driver already had a ride with a truck on his CB and the trooper had to wait with the bus for a tow truck or driver for 8 hours in the desert. To many people in CHina and easy to get a driver, in America, drivers would never put up with harrassment.

I was out with the daughter yesterday. As the bus we were on was pulling over to our stop I saw 2 women on the pavement, grandma and mom I suspect.

The 2 boys who I assume were under their care were playing on the road. Busses and arctics going around them. We got off the bus and walked past them. Yup, as suspected, the boys were with the women. They were wrestling each other to try pull each others shoes off. One of the women stepped onto the road, picked up one of the shoes, and threw it onto the pavement. The boys chased it.

I felt incredibly sad. Their stupidity overwhelmed me with total sadness.

Stiggs:

And if the kids got hit by a car the women would be screaming for compensation from the driver for being careless enough to run into two boys playing in traffic while their caregivers watched on oblivious.

They would be the victims in the situation.

Strange culture, I'll never understand how you can be dangerously stupid and careless, disregard all safety rules, common sense and signposted warnings and still feel like you are owed something when the inevitable happens.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/15-killed-truck-hits-31-car-lineup-china-0917...

An out-of-control truck ploughed into a 31-car lineup in northwest China killing 15 people and injuring 44, authorities in the city of Lanzhou said Sunday.

The accident occurred Saturday night as the driver of the heavy duty articulated truck lost control on a downhill stretch of expressway and collided with cars lining up at a toll booth, Lanzhou's propaganda department said.

Ten of the 44 hurt sustained serious injuries, authorities said.

The big rig driver Li Feng was put under investigation and police watch, according to the official news agency Xinhua.

The semi-trailer was registered to Li's home northeastern Liaoning province, more than 2,000 kilometres from the scene of the accident. It was Li's first time driving the stretch of road, the China Daily said.

State broadcaster CCTV aired video from the scene showing heavy snow and many crippled and twisted vehicles.

Deadly road accidents are common in China, where traffic regulations are often flouted or go unenforced.

Last week a scuffle between a bus driver and a passenger caused a bus to plunge from a bridge into a river in southwest China, killing all 15 people on board.

According to authorities 58,000 people were killed in accidents across the country in 2015 alone.

Violations of traffic laws were blamed for nearly 90 percent of accidents that caused deaths or injuries that year.

an update on the video

It seems the lady fighting is a divorced 48 year old lady with a grown son that is in the business of making curtains and drapes for new home buyers when they move in a new place. She had been drinking alcohol late the night before and decided not to drive and take the bus. She missed her stop and decided to be a cantakorous bitch and for 6 more stops harassing the driver.

It appears by some that the driver deliberately turned the bus, after some chinese translation and review, I came to a different conclusion.

The driver had a schedule and the lady had stepped on his last nerve. What to do? Maybe I can swerve and throw her on the floor of the bus, No. when she gets up, she will bitch even more, OH I got it, there's a camera and killing somebody only costs 50 thousand rmb. I will wreck the bus into a car and the lady on camera will have to pay the damage, fuck it, want be my fault, so swerve the bus a little, dam the lady changed lanes, swerve more, oh no, losing control, in chinese you can hear the driver say shit, shit shit as it flies over, he tried to make a fender bender to blame on the bitch and get her off his back and he and the bitch went to hell together.

The lady in the red car was taken into custody by the police and blamed by journalists with no apology after the video showed it was not her fault at all, the red car lady had 20 years experience driving, also there was a pedestrian near the bus walking when it decided to compete in olympic diving and the pedestrian was 2 meters from being bottom feeder fertilizer for river shrimp.

The first divers reached the bus with lights at 11pm and pulled a short haired lady out first and a 3 year old child. One diver discovered that he had pulled his own father out of the bus. They suspect the force of the water in the front blew out the back windows and the two bodies missing were sitting in the rear of the bus. 78 hours for recovery of the bus and and bodies.

ScotsAlan:

That matches the video Ambi. Bus drivers here have incredible patience. We have a bus rapid transport lane close to me, and I remember a few years ago I was on a bus where the driver was almost losing it. The bus lane would have a green light, but at almost every junction there would be an idiot in a car blocking the bus. Bus driver was getting mms from the bumper, horn blaring, lights flashing. At one point he left the bus lane to undertake an idiot car and cut in from the side so close that the car had to move. To be honest, I felt the bus drivers fustration. But I was relieved to get off.

When someone starts to get physicaln and violent with you, it is an invitation. You are invited to a dance, or a game. If you feel your manhood, your face, your dignity or your identity are being challenged, the automatic reaction is to accept the invitation.

But the invitation can be declined. By not reciprocating physical violence, you send a message that it is inappropriate and unwelcome. And that message should be loud and clear, when you are being 'invited' while driving. Onlookers would be motivated to stop the attackers.

Authorities acknowledged that the driver also caused the crash, by returning violence. Onlookers assumed he wanted to win the fight unaided, so stood by while he 'danced', 'played' a game with the challenger.

A:In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in relevance depending on the context and location. Here's a breakdown of each aspect:a) Getting the teaching job: Teaching certificates can certainly enhance your chances of securing a teaching position, especially in formal educational settings such as schools and language institutions. Many employers prefer candidates who have undergone specific training in pedagogy and instructional techniques, which these certificates often provide. However, other factors such as experience, references, and the demand for teachers in a particular area also play significant roles in the hiring process.b) Getting a higher salary than your uncertified competitors: In some cases, holding a teaching certificate can indeed lead to a higher salary compared to uncertified competitors. Many educational institutions have structured salary scales that take into account factors such as level of education, years of experience, and additional certifications. Holding a teaching certificate may place you in a higher salary bracket or make you eligible for certain salary incentives or bonuses. However, this can vary widely depending on the specific policies of the institution or organization.c) Getting promotions: Teaching certificates can be beneficial for career advancement and securing promotions within the field of education. They demonstrate a commitment to professional development and mastery of teaching skills, which are qualities that many employers value when considering candidates for leadership positions or administrative roles. Additionally, some promotions may require specific certifications or qualifications, making holding a teaching certificate essential for advancement in certain cases.Regarding which certificate yields better results, it largely depends on the specific requirements of the job market and the educational context in which you intend to work. For example:A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is often highly regarded in formal school settings and can be advantageous for those seeking positions in primary or secondary education.Montessori certification is valuable for individuals interested in working in Montessori schools or implementing Montessori principles in their teaching approach.A Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate is particularly relevant for those seeking to teach English to non-native speakers in international contexts or language schools.Ultimately, the best certificate for you will depend on your career goals, the specific requirements of the positions you're interested in, and the preferences of potential employers in your target job market. It's essential to research the requirements and preferences of employers in your desired field and tailor your qualifications accordingly. -- ruqaiya761
