Q: Chinese Imperial College student called "chink" inflicted serious injury on Kingston U. guy

Not that easy to get into Imperial College. The degree of physical injury he inflicted on the other guy can, under UK's law, have him sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, plus costing him his degree from IC (kicked out of). Kingston U. is a polytechnic school "upgraded" to become university some 20+ years ago, nowhere near the prestigious IC.

Mainland netizens are clapping their hands, saying PRC mainlanders should all be proud of him.  The thing is,  can they award him a graduation certificate from IC? No!

What would you say/do if you were this Chinese student?

Things we have learned.

Rugby players are surprisingly good at kicking considering very little kicking happens in the sport of rugby.

Brown shoes don't go with a charcoal suit (see article photo). He should do time just for that crime alone.

Calling someone a racial slur and not expecting a punch in the gob is foolish.

Kicking someone on the ground is not only cowardly but extremely dangerous. If you do this you should be prosecuted. When your opponent is on the ground the fight is over IMHO. This isn't UFC.

Someone can't help the fact that they are Chinese but if you have a mullet you can easily remedy this with a trip to the barber.

Here endeth the lesson.

It is unacceptable to do this to anyone; he should do jail time.

it's called free speech, if i hit every one that called me a name, i would probably be dead, and there would be a lot of bodies laying on the ground also.

is this the new wimpy bubble wrap generation, good to know they exist in all the countries, maybe future wars will be a plant verses zombies competition since they can't seem to use any rational logic.

Aside from the results, the best of friends can do some serious damage to each other when alcohol is involved, but intelligent students at a college should already know better.

No no no.. he doesn't understand our culture

"Chink" is a term of respect that is used by all people to show their affection fro those of Chinese descent. He should not get angry about it. He just doesn't understand.

Anyone see any hypocrisy in this??? You can see how that would play out in the media....

So, IC should kick him out if he's found guilty (which I imagine they will).

There should be some words that are fighting words, I support the guy for standing up for himself. In Florida, he would have been allowed to shoot the guy.

EDIT: I just read the article, I don't believe his story, the CCTV footage makes him out to be the aggressor.

Unfortunately he got acquitted. A car blocked the CCTV when he returned to kick the guy on the ground. Sleazy guy if you ask me.

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
