I mainly got new (English teaching) jobs in China from here. I also used several good job recruiters and I got new offers that way, too.

The other (ET) jobs website is Dave's ESL Cafe, and if you'll Yahoo-gle "ESL job vacancies in China", you'll find more websites advertising ET job openings in China. You can replace 'ESL' with any job you're looking for ...

Many reasons why no replies from job advertisers ... Chinese borders remain closed as one. Nobody will hire you, if you can't enter China.

The other thing here is (was from 2009 - 2017), never stop sending your CV until you get an interview invitation ...

In my time, I usually spoke to at least two schools in the same time and then I picked and signed the best contract ..

Good luck!

My experience with this website is that the recruiters post jobs, but when they contact you, they try to divert you to other jobs. Perhaps they recommend ones that they get a bigger commission or are difficult to fill.

It has also been my experience that they do not look at your CV very well. While I explain in my cover letter and CV the necessary things I am seeking, such as high school ages only, or Not a tier one city, they will contact me with any willy-nilly job posting they want.

If you are looking for a recruiter to work with, then this is a good starting place. Just hold to your guns about the things you are serious about and force them to find you what you are looking for.

Essentially, your best bet in finding a job is to get several recruiters working for you to find the perfect job, as the job postings are not as reliable for hooking a job.

Always remember that ESL teaching is a business working towards a profit, and having to pay other people (not you) their share of the pie. Even puiblic schools usually operate off this model. If a foreigner is working as an English teacher, it is most likely a business based model.

Has any foreigner found a job recently? Any tips for entering China and securing a permit/visa? Thanks!

A:My friends who are managing schools still can't recruit from outside of China because of the borders being closed, as far as I know that doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon. If you have a current existing residence permit etc you can re-enter the country, going through the usual quarantine process obviously but no new visas are being issued. I don't know about business visas but I suspect it wouldn't be much different. For up to date info you could probably contact the Chinese embassy in your country. -- Stiggs
