Adriatic/Mediterranean .... East! angel

These aren't photos taken from some place, but drawings (oil) painted as an artist was looking at the house with canvas handy.

I saw similar houses on Mykonos too, without so much green.

So, let say these pics are most likely from Northern part of Adriatic.

earthizen:

Thanks. I was using my mobile when I saw those paintings, they  did  look surreal to me. The one with the little sampan reminded me of Santonrini, it certainly has a Mediteranean feel. I can spend afternoons and afternoons just sitting outside these beautiful places without getting bored. Maybe I should! broken heart

Greece has too hot climate for so much green, especially in summer. That's why I said North ...stone-d houses, I mean 'houses made of stone' you'll meet all around Adratic/Mediterranean (Cote d' Azure, Italy, Spain, Greece, Croatia, Slovenia ....) .

I see. Thks. The places you mentioned helped narrow the search down. There is one painting where far away, at the end of the road where it met the sea, a blue dome shape structure with a cross on its top. That should pinpoint the location for those who had  seen it.

I just looked at first 2 ... and answered it!

Pic 1. There is text hanging of the house written in Greek Orthodox alphabet, so pic is certainly from Greece;

5. Chapel by the sea with Greek Orthodox architectural top. It is typical architecture all around Greece.

2, 3, 4, and 6. Typical (Greek) Mediterranean architecture with stone-d-flooring, which you can also see in S. Croatia (Split, Dubrovnik), Cote d' Azure, S. Italy and islands (Sicily), Malta, .... beside the Greece.

Green stuff painted isn't there for real. In real, it looks more stony than flowery.

Looks all Greek to me... Tongue

earthizen:

Can't blame you, they do all have the same style. As iniff points out the hot temperature is one factor. It has been so long since I went to Santorini and other places in Greece and Southern Italy that it took me awhile to remember the months I visited them. Worth revisiting. People there don't do catcalls or ask how old you are 16 times, and how many houses you own, where your children are, then say they know some divorced relatives, and when you tell them you are married and not intetested in xiao sans, still repeatedly talked about that relative thinking 'CCP says it is a war, I can't lose'......all the while with eyes glued to your wallet, or watch, and in some case, even rub your shirt with two f*ucking fingers to feel the quality. I must remember to kneel and sincerely pray that I don't bump into these motherf*ckers should I decide to revisit these places. I don't usually pray, but abnormal circumstances require 'abnormal' tactics......

Watch for the rats, size of the 'cat's-browny-bro' in Greece. They are everywhere, because Greeks (maybe 'were', I am not sure about how is today) drop garbage everywhere, i.e just 'out of the house'.

Athen wasn't that bad, the streets were worn out, the alleys I didn't venture into much. I wouldn't hang around Athens and major cities, I would hit the little ones the next time, and mountainous areas.  I always ask people who have to glue themselves to crowds, 'you have never seen a human being in your life?'

You know, what was funny in Greece/Athens in 90-tis?

Car alarms were novelty then ... Athens International airport is in vicinity of the DT, and when plane takes-off, it flies very close to the city, I'd say some 100 m high as the lowest, so when plane gets off the tarmac, all car alarms in DT go off ....

All!

Lol   That would be quite a scene. I went in 2000s, only stayed briefly in Athen, toured the key tourist spots, then ran off to Santorini and spent the majority of my time there, slighty more than a week. Rented a car, drove around the island with my girlfriend, watched beautiful sunsets. No cat sized rats the whole stay, nor presence of so called humanoids well known for eating rats.
