You got to wonder what was said in Beijing the other week

Stiggs:

That's what I was thinking too, what promises or insinuations were made in Beijing?

I wonder what NK is expecting from this.. sanctions being dropped would be the obvious one but I wonder if they're hoping for / expecting international investment, and if it doesn't work out the way they want - with NK becoming the next China or something would they go back to firing off missiles and threatening everyone around them?

Who knows though, maybe he has realized the old way of doing things hasn't worked out great for them and China gently hinted that they don't want to carry and support them anymore if they keep being the unstable psycho in the region. There's more to be gained by doing what China did and opening up somewhat than carrying on as they have been.

North Korea will merge time zones with South starting May 5

North Korea will synchronize its time with South Korea as early as this week, Pyongyang announced on Monday. The North created its own time zone in 2015, turning back the clocks by 30 minutes to defy Japanese colonial legacy.

NK is really getting with the times now.

Now that they aren't at war there's presumably no need for that enormous army they have. Wonder what they plan to do with all those soldiers, you can't have them doing nothing, idle hands make trouble and all that...

What's the bet NK is going to be the next sweatshop of the world, staffed by ex soldiers and peasant farmers who would probably consider being a virtual factory slave but at least getting fed regularly a better deal than what they have now.

Trump Sends Second Aircraft Carrier To Korean Peninsula With 7,500 Marines Aboard

Just one week after uttering his now-infamous "this is the calm before the storm" statement to the press ahead of a dinner with military leaders, we now learn that President Trump has dispatched a second nuclear aircraft carrier, the USS Theodore Roosevelt, filled with 7,500 marines to the Korean Peninsula.

Satellite Footage Shows North Korea Preparing Ballistic Missile Launch Ahead Of US Naval Drills

Satellite pictures show ballistic missiles mounted on "transporter erector vehicles" and being moved out of hangars near Pyongyang and in the North Phyongan Province. US and South Korean military officials suspect the North might be preparing to launch missiles capable of reaching US territory, a South Korean newspaper said.

"The Bottles Kept Flowing" - Inside The Dinner That Led To Trump-Kim Meeting

Finally, Reuters points out the inevitable truth that if the summit fails, the cost could be higher than in the past, as observers have noted, with North Korea firmly in possession of a nuclear arsenal and Trump having said military strikes may be needed to remove those weapons; a diplomatic failure would leave few (and uglier) options on the table.

Some U.S. experts say this still could be Kim going full Hollywood on the world, it could all be staged and years later pickup where they left off. Funny thing is by current North Korea law Moon should be arrested during his fall visit as he and his family were escapees from North Korea that fled into the south. Good point right? Ah, I don't know how to judge Kim because the only way I actually trust this is if he turns over evidence of dozens of pictures proving that those veteran military leaders have been delt with permanently, if they still live than I can't believe this and to me it's a new Hollywood movie blockbuster, I can't picture vets losing face to join peace and the South, but I can picture Kim doing this, just not the military vets.

I agree Ironman.  The Old Guard will not go quietly, but let's face it, they will go.  Most are in their 80's or better and one way or another they will go.  Kim is not Old Guard.  Kim has seen/experienced Western high-life and wants to continue to indulge in it.  He is not stupid, he asked himself- resist West and be a global outcast with a good chance of being assassinated, or Go along and Get along and enjoy the material fruits of Western lifestyle well into my old age?  Looks like he chose the latter.

There has been a paradigm shift in MSM media reporting on DPRK since the change in American management.

When Obama was in charge, CNN etc said 'another failed missile test'.

Under Trump.. latest test shows DPRK deadly threat. They have one one missile test that theory says could reach the US. Instantly, the media has assumed it survived re-entry, and that they have a warhead that fits on it.

The media want a war. In view, they knew Obama would not give them one. Now its almost as if they have been goading Trump.

Kim has played this brilliantly. And so has Trump with his sanctions.

I hope it works out and all is well for the people of Korea.

Trumps best gambit by the way was appointing Bolton.

Once the deal is signed, Bolton can be sacked.

A: In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in releva
A:In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in relevance depending on the context and location. Here's a breakdown of each aspect:a) Getting the teaching job: Teaching certificates can certainly enhance your chances of securing a teaching position, especially in formal educational settings such as schools and language institutions. Many employers prefer candidates who have undergone specific training in pedagogy and instructional techniques, which these certificates often provide. However, other factors such as experience, references, and the demand for teachers in a particular area also play significant roles in the hiring process.b) Getting a higher salary than your uncertified competitors: In some cases, holding a teaching certificate can indeed lead to a higher salary compared to uncertified competitors. Many educational institutions have structured salary scales that take into account factors such as level of education, years of experience, and additional certifications. Holding a teaching certificate may place you in a higher salary bracket or make you eligible for certain salary incentives or bonuses. However, this can vary widely depending on the specific policies of the institution or organization.c) Getting promotions: Teaching certificates can be beneficial for career advancement and securing promotions within the field of education. They demonstrate a commitment to professional development and mastery of teaching skills, which are qualities that many employers value when considering candidates for leadership positions or administrative roles. Additionally, some promotions may require specific certifications or qualifications, making holding a teaching certificate essential for advancement in certain cases.Regarding which certificate yields better results, it largely depends on the specific requirements of the job market and the educational context in which you intend to work. For example:A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is often highly regarded in formal school settings and can be advantageous for those seeking positions in primary or secondary education.Montessori certification is valuable for individuals interested in working in Montessori schools or implementing Montessori principles in their teaching approach.A Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate is particularly relevant for those seeking to teach English to non-native speakers in international contexts or language schools.Ultimately, the best certificate for you will depend on your career goals, the specific requirements of the positions you're interested in, and the preferences of potential employers in your target job market. It's essential to research the requirements and preferences of employers in your desired field and tailor your qualifications accordingly. -- ruqaiya761
