Q: Foreigners shouldn't make critiques* about China but Chinese can in other countries?
I personally love the story and her observations but the one-sided thinking is hilarious.

yes, train and teach him to do something he does not like and has no interest in so he can be rich and happy, that always works.
Screw that, if a Chinese is openly criticizing any other country (not necessarily mine), then I will openly criticize China, their delicate feelings be damned.
It hasn't happened in a while, I always hang out in the same places so I must have gotten a reputation around here as the laowai you don't want to mess with.
But I perfectly remember having a chat with a local about Malaysia and they said there are Chinese people there, I said yes it's true, Malaysia has Malay, Chinese and Indian people.
Then they went on saying they don't like Indians and that they smell and that they rape women. It was an obvious racist attack coming out of nowhere and based on stereotypes.
I said it's true but India is not alone. I also come across people who stink on a daily basis here and there are many stories of villagers abducting then gang raping women in China.
Of course they tried to explain that it's different because many people in China are uneducated, I said what of India, it's a third world country and you hold them to higher standards than China.
So they lost it because lack of arguments and started saying that if I don't like China then I should go back to my country. I said that I love China, but I hate arrogant assholes who are racist on top of that.
Chinese people love criticizing other countries but they can't handle being criticized themselves. Isn't it Confucius who once said "Don't do to others what you don't want others to do unto you"?
ambivalentmace:
confucius was a sexist, elitists bigot, women should stay in the kitchen, and farmers should stay on the farm, great wisdom.

Let me take that back, some things never change. Although feminism is cancer, so same same.
