Q: 'Given the incidence of people pooing in bins.... ' Is University of Strathclyde that poor?

http://totalfratmove.com/scottish-university-reminds-students-stop-poopi...

Looks like you need a vpn to read this. University of Strathclyde, Scotland. Not a mickey mouse uni., sent this out to students.

“Given the incidence of people pooing in bins, showers and the likes – can I please remind all TIC [Technology and Innovation Centre] occupants that the toilets have been provided for that specific purpose,” students were told.

“All bodily fluids, solids and toilet paper must be disposed of down the toilet. While I appreciate that the TIC population is multi-cultural and different countries have different practices, here in the UK the accepted practice is to use only the WC.”& had to apologise for hurting some unmentioned culture's feelings with this --- The university later apologised for the email, saying that it “contained sentiments that are completely contrary to our institutional values."

Is Strathclyde that poor these days? If not, then that greedy?

Where has the dignity of universities like Strathclyde that accept students like these gone?  Where have all the flowers gone.....soldiers.......graveyard? (I still like Peter, Paul and Mary's version the best)

It's easy to say they aren't a Micky mouse uni but the reality is chasing Chinese students money lowers their standards. Call out and shame the students who do this

Sadly we have a culture of appeasement in this country (I'm in Scotland). Our Uni's have become so bloated on their own self-importance that they need the money from overseas students desperately. Don't forget that almost all Uni's here (apart from two) are government funded. Anything else they want to make themselves grander (bigger buildings, flashier labs, etc) has to be gotten from fees. Foreign students pay more. So, the idea is not to piss off the money fountains. A sad state of affairs.

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
