Yes, have been to Detian Falls (Chinese name) or Ban Gioc (Vietnamese name). located on the border between China (Daxin County, Guangxi Province) and Vietnam. The Falls are about 4 hours by car from Nanning, west of it and just under 400 Kms away. If you pick the right roads. you will pass another waterfall called Shatundie Waterfall. Nearest town to Detian Falls is called Daxin. There are few small hotels there.
A few tips. The best view of the waterfall is from the Chinese side. Actually, the waterfall is not a straight down path, it is broken in three different levels. If you go in dry season (no rain recently), you will see a few small streams, to me not worth the trip and putting up with the sharks after tourist money. But if you choose your travel date in rainny season (like March for example), it is worth the trip by far.
You can also take a tour there from Nanning, but most are a one day trip, and they rush you soo much that again, to me is not worth it.
