Q: Have you had fire cupping during a massage in China?

My friend likes special massages and normal ones, he talked me into a normal massage. My knees are arthritic and I injured my ankle, so why not. I paid extra for oil massage. The Chinese say we have too much body heat and fire cupping removes it. I say turn up the AC. So I tried fire cupping. I couldn't take getting my back covered in them, had to stop, now I'm covered in huge purple hickeys on my back. If I wanted that much pain, I'd see a dominatrix.

It looks very odd. I saw few Chinese woman have reddish, round print on their skin. I never found out what is the purpose, but looking at the mark, I 'see' glass opening touches the skin during 'healing', while something burns on the top of the glass. Heat from the top (slowly) leaves round mark on the skin.

Flame heat inside the cup causes a vacuum when the cup is applied to the skin. It sucks and hurts like s***. I asked that she get a very large cup and place it you know where.

I've never seen a cup, just marks. It is amazing how often you can see marks on the Chinese. Originally, I thought it must be some kind of ritual.

My ex had such (everlasting) mark. I couldn't get real explanation for the mark on her skin, because of her low English....and my 'no Chinese' level. I was guessing, mark must be done in combination of glass and heat.

What's that, slang for when they cradle your balls and pop a cheeky finger up your bum?

  Yeh, thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is one of the flawed things of TCM, it doesn't do jack but to lacerate you. My wife has had it done a couple of times, and I hate to see her skin with 20 or so big red/blue/green circles that takes weeks to disappear.

I've tried it too, just for fun, had 5 cups put on my back while I was waiting for some wizardry done to my wife to make her more fertile or something. I forgot to tell the medicineman that maybe a needle through my condoms would have a better effect on that rather than keeping us in a room filled with thick smoke from moxabustion.

Remember to have pictures taken, tell the mates back home you've been "interviewed by the Chinese secret police for carrying a large item in your pants"

I have been through it several times to keep the wife happy ,Till I bailed up and told her it is a waste of time (and this is how my eye socket was bruised)  no. i am better off in the Gym for a hour a couple of times a week  and then regular massage, as it is guaranteed to have a Happier Ending  ( pun intended)indecision

Have tried it several times without any feeling that my 'excess body heat' had been

removed but...  sure had big welts up and down my back, as well as blisters lasting some time. Not worth my while anymore and hurts quite a bit.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
