Taiwan will be 'the cause' for total western decoupling from China ...
Anyhow, I read in some Standing-Committee's release around 2012 or so, that by 2020-30, China's plan is to rely mostly on domestic consumption/economy ... I can't recall the exact year/date of that statement, but I read it.
It looks, it's all part of the plan, however "Fcuk-off SCS ..." still stands!

Japanese slump is a hard example ... but, at China might be also talk (or wishes ...) about the system's change ...
However, I can't imagine 1.4 B people living happily in democratic system ...

yes, the question that nobody wants to ask, When is a country to big to maintain by geography or population? Maybe separate entities is the long term result, but nobody utters those words.
