Q: How can we properly please the Chinese Government?

I mean it guys. Apparently the Chinese government has power to confirm, and presumably veto, reincarnation.

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2015-09/06/content_21800755.htm

We're screwed guys. Except from ScotsAlan, he'll be fine...but the rest of us? They're gunna find out what we've been saying on here for the last several years and then bam! We all come back as slugs once we've died.

Anyway, heres my question:

How can we properly repent? Suggestions from our wise CCP apologist are requested.

This is probably the absolutely stupidest thing I've ever heard come from the CCP... and, as you can imagine, that really says a lot!

Effectively, for those that follow a Buddhist perspective, if anyone actually controls reincarnation (other than one's individual souls), it would be the Boddhisatvas - KuanYin types... So, effectively, the CCP is new equating themselves with 'gods'.! (which, obviously, makes one wonder - why they don't control the entire universe!)

I kind of lost the little respect that I had for the Dalai Lama after he proclaimed Steven Seagal as "tulku" or an enlightened being with extensive knowledge of the Dharma and a reincarnation of a dead Lama. Steven Seagal is nothing more than a colossal turd.

It's all made up nonsense anyhow. I suppose some could argue that Tibetans might want their own theocratic, parasitic overlord in the form of the Dalai Lama rather than having China in charge but I see very little difference.

What I know is that to please Chinese men (in a friendly way) you have to claim that:

-You love China very much, but you accept your temporary guest status, honored that they let you live in their great nation for some times.

-You love Chinese women, they are the most beautiful, but they do not love you at all.

You get the idea, expected submission to the superior Chinese man.

Why am I ok?

Wow. I cant speak Chinese. I have no money. I am a communist. Everyone says communism has failed. I am grasping at straws to justify my political outlook... But you think I am a winner... Wow.. The world is more fecked than even Sam Seeder and The young Turks claim.

Ha ha. A red faced toothless old commie is considered ok? I can spin that to fit my agenda

First of all, thank you for the question (upvoted), it helped me gain clarity on china's issues, among them control freaks, power, face, money, ethicless, guanxi, backdoors (corruption), ruthless, animosity against other countries (races)....

Initially, I approached the question along the line --- how do you please control freaks, abusers, manipulators, warmongers, liars (fakes, faces), sociopaths and the likes? There are many good advices on the internet such as "forget about pleasing them which is an impossibility in the long run because you are never good enough in their eyes". Ha, this article, written by a priest , hits home for me.  I never rule out sources of solution based upon races, religions, sex.....etc.

The points are so well articulated that I for one can't say it better, so I will c&p the ones I find relevant to your question. He pointed out an area where many made a grave mistake when approaching this topic. Here it is,

"The idea that such a thing exists causes many of us to recoil in horror. Evil is ugly, and we do not want to look at it. Many of us make the mistake of trying to reason away the existence of evil. "Perhaps the malevolent person does not realise the harm they are doing," we might say to ourselves. "Perhaps the malevolent person is a victim of a poor upbringing, and so is not really responsible for their choices." "Perhaps the person I think is malevolent is not really making evil choices, but is simply psychologically ill." In any of these cases, evil is reduced to merely being some form of an "accident of life," and it is easy to forgive or excuse accidents. In many cases, one of these may be true. But what if it isn't?

I I have found that the difference between persons who are malevolent, versus those who are merely psychologically ill, lies in the nature of their break with reality. A person who has suffered a psychotic break may act out in anti-social behaviours, but their entire life eventually becomes disorganized, and we typically see that they themselves are victims of their unusual behaviour; their contact with reality is characterized by *confusion*. In my honest opinion, such persons probably still seek the same *ends* in life as ordinary folks, but their illness prevents them from using appropriate *means* to attain those ends, because the psychotic break damages their ability to determine true cause and effect.

A malevolent person, on the other hand, is highly functional. They are often very well-spoken, and appear confident and self-assured. They seem in control. They understand cause and effect, but in their pursuit of desired effects they are willing to use two kinds of "causes" that betray them as truly malevolent: lies, and wrath. [Earthizen: What is china famous for? Fakes (i.e. lies)]

....But the wrath comes out most strongly when the malevolent person gets caught, and someone calls them on their pattern of deceit. It now becomes a test of wills. We need to understand that, for the malevolent person, their whole universe is essentially under attack -- and they are the centre of that universe. The reaction, however, is rarely reasoned debate, but rather emotional violence.[Earthizen: If this is not spot on, what is?]"

In dealing with PRC, most of us would think of cultural revolution, a twisted version of communism, brainwashing cult (even WHO did a report on that).... Are we making the same mistake? The article is highly readable. Enjoy.

A:If you earned a Master's Degree in English Literature or a related subject, you can teach English legally in China even if you don't hold a passport from the usually accepted list of countries. The visa requirements clearly specifies this “loophole”.Nonetheless, I think this requirement is only for teaching English. If you are a licensed teacher of another discipline, such as Math or Physics, you don't need to be a native speaker, although most schools would rather hire a teacher from a country where English is the native language.Right now China’s borders are closed (does anyone have new information?), at least that’s what everyone is saying. China is probably only going to reopen the borders again once most of the population is vaccinated, and that might take a while. -- samvelasco87
