How could you find out if you've been black listed as a teacher in China?

You may never know. Especially if you didn't get your work visa through the proper channels using the right criteria.
Stiggs:
I always thought that blacklist threat from employers was bullshit. You can get flagged by the visa people for whatever reasons, probably all legit and reasonable, but schools calling the PSB and black listing you is far fetched IMO.
I can see someone not getting another job in city X because Happy Monkey English School has guanxi there but I've seen enough teachers leave under all sorts of threats and drama and get another (often better) job somewhere else to give the blacklist threat any serious credibility.
That being said, if you're reported for working illegally or breaching Visa conditions or something and the PSB comes at you, you're probably effectively black listed. But you'd obviously know about it if that happens.

It's not BS, it's not exactly a blacklist though. When the employer releases an employee or cancels their residence permit. They have to provide documentation and a report of the employee. This is also required for the release letter. If they write up a bad report any other future employer/government branch can see it. It's a centralized system.
It can lead to you being refused a visa or work permit transfer. However if you're illegal then this won't matter and the only way to get you banned would be through a visa violation.
I really don't think there is any way to find out until you are rejected in a visa application.
I've said this before; I don't know if it's true but i heard that it'sa lot of work to go and blacklist somebody. most employers wouldn't bother even if they said they were going to take this step. what's the point when they can just refuse to give you your papaerwork that you will need for your next job. to not need cancellation and reference letter for getting your next job in china, i think you need to go back home for a certain period of time. maybe somebody else can correct me or explain further

Agree. Its the PSB who do the bans. Not the schools. The blacklist is a CFTU invention. My reasoning... simple. The PSB and the tax ppl are developing a unified system. Probably based on wechat. Meanwhile, the Chinese Government do not actually have an email system. Nobody can do a ' to all' guv email. Because it is tracable. Paper docs with a chop is how they do it.Cos easy to say an office junior nicked your ivory chop. A blacklist is too much effort. And too much potential to ban the wrong person with the resulting shit storm.
Chinese visa s-tamp in your passport will turn dark blue at first ... and then gradually to the complete black color.
This is a clear indication, you were black- -listed.
Why not simply ask the person/school/institution you suspect have reason to blacklist you?
