Q: I prefer how China deals with illegal workers, you?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/chinese-workers-say-firms-tricke...

If I was lied to by a Chinese company, China would punish me and deport me, telling me it's my responsibility to know the law.

But Chinese illegal workers get coddled, you didn't know you were working illegally on a tourist visa? BS

I just wish China would be just as strict toward people employing illegal workers

Chinese Gov. doesn't act toward illegal workers and employers same as western Gov. does, 'cause Chinese are aware of craftiness of an employers.

Demand for FTs in China was huge, but since they remodeled Gaokao it looks that weakened a bit.

Punishment of employers who employ workers in China illegally doesn't stand either, 'cause employers are acting on students demands .... They make profit too, buTT ...

Your sentences after web link didn't happened to me ....

In 2010, I was on the way to get 2nd F visa from Helen in Hangzhou, butT ... I complained to SAFEA, 'cause Helen initially promised my next visa will be Z.

I contacted Gov. with my full name (and shoe size ), and honestly admitted my visa status and pay I was receiving for it.

Gov. made Helen pay my last salary and let me off to another employer/Z visa sponsor.

I opened few threads here at the time ... add 'Helen' in search above for more.

Look for this on wechat search engine:

Attention! New Immigration Bureau Affects Your Resident Permit!

Seems there will be new departments in Immigration to handle and deal with us..

Seems like an American ICE team would be formed to handle illegal workers. I get an uneasy feeling, I mean they just rolled out the ABC cards, now seems in a few years it'll get stricter and stricter. Maybe only A talent cards will be here by 2020

I don't know any Foreigner in China who's ever been caught working illegally and deported as a result. I always read stories on how they are becoming stricter and such, on how increasingly more people get caught and deported, but I have never seen so many Russians and Europeans teaching on illegal visas in Guangzhou and Foshan (because they can't possibly get a legit working visa if they aren't native speakers).

Just look at the above poster, I see such news and announcements on how China is about to become super strict on illegal workers and Foreigners in general every other month since I came here in 2006. It's like those so-called 'economists' predicting the impending collapse of China every year. It's been hammered then proven false so many times that no one believes it now a days and it's not even funny anymore.

So I don't know, I don't find China particularly strict with illegal workers, that is compared to Western countries that may let in waves of immigrants but systemically go after illegal workers and give a hard time to their employers.

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
